A man driving a motorized scooter through a crosswalk at Gladwin and Hillcrest in Abbotsford was hit by a car Saturday afternoon.

The 75 year old man and his scooter were knocked sideways by the impact and dragged about 15 meters.

He underwent surgery at the hospital for a broken tibia but police say he is recovering.

The 82 year old woman driving the car got a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian.

In addition police have requested that her licence be reviewed by the superintendent of motor vehicles.
