abbyPD3Abbotsford police say they plan to follow up on Wednesday’s forum on crime and violence in West Abbotsford, a forum that drew over 800 people.

Constable Ian MacDonald says the main message to come out of the forum was for parents to be more involved in kids lives to help steer them towards good choices.

MacDonald says they will have plenty of follow up events.

“We will be scheduling, working through that partnership with the school district. They will likely be more at the individual school sites than the community based forum, but parents and citizens can look forward to more forums and presentations in both English and Punjabi.”

MacDonald says they want to have more Q and A time at future meetings, but will limit how long people get to speak so that more people can ask their questions.
