20150428_103704[1]Canadian flags are flying at half mast in Valley communities today as we remember those who have lost their lives in the workplace. April 28th was officially recognized by the federal government in 1991 as the National Day of Mourning. Over 100 people gathered near Thunderbird Memorial Square in Abbotsford this morning to pay respect. It especially hit home for Mayor Henry Braun, who says he personally lost two employees as a business owner in his career.
There were 203 workplace related deaths in BC last year. Both Abbotsford and Chilliwack are marking the annual event.
