Yale Secondary set to host BC Student Leadership Conference

The annual BC Student Leadership Conference is being hosted in Abbotsford this year, at Yale Secondary. It’s where almost 400 secondary students from across the province get together to hear keynote speakers and take part in leadership activities. Yale teacher Doug Primrose says a lot of planning went into this.

“We put our bid in two years ago.  It’s been a lot of work, but as we get closer to it there’s a real sense of excitement at the school…the staff are getting excited about it too.  It’s really cross-curricular too…we have shop classes helping us prepare some things for the conference, our home economics class is helping us as well. The whole school has really bought into it.”

They’ll be setting aside the Friday for middle school students. If you’d like to register your son or daughter, Primrose says they’ll fit them in. It costs $200 to register, $350 if you need a hotel.
