The 71st Annual Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair is Back Better Than Ever This May Long Weekend The Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair runs May 19 -­ 22, 2017

This year marks the 71st annual Cloverdale Rodeo & the 129th annual Country Fair, and with Canada celebrating its 150th year, visitors can expect British Columbia’s most beloved annual tradition to be an action-­?packed weekend of family fun. Visitors can look forward to more competitions, more live entertainment, and more food for all ages. Be sure to mark your calendars for the May Long weekend!

Recognized as some of the best athletes in the world, national and international Cowboys and Cowgirls are ready to compete for a total of $328,000 in cash prizes. The Cloverdale Invitational Rodeo will feature four rough stock rodeo events: Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, and Ladies Barrel Racing. Cloverdale’s youngest athletes will get their chance to compete when Mutton Bustin’ takes centre stage during all five Rodeo performances.

New to this year’s Rodeo are two specialty performers –Vancouver based and BCCMA nominated, female vocalists, The Heels, and trick riders Hearts of the West. The five phenomenal sisters and brother are a true cowgirl and cowboy family who will wow visitors with their trick ridin and exceptional horsemanship skills.

Families will have a blast in the Country Fair with the Envision Financial Kidz Zone, Agri Zone and Cone Zone.Visitors of all ages will enjoy the S&R Sawmills West Coast Lumberjack Show, the BC Country Music Association Pavilion, the sixth annual World Freestyle Roundup Skateboarding Competition, B.C.’s largest travelling Midway, and the spectacular Art Knapp Outdoor Living Pavilion.

Another popular area returning to the event is the Western Fine Arts Show, one of B.C.’s largest and most prestigious art shows. Featuring between 15 and 20 artists, a percentage of all proceeds will be donated to C.H.I.L.D. Foundation and the Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Foundation .Artists will also be in attendance to discuss and show their work. Another show feature will be the display of work created by popular artist Jeff Robinson, son of Red Robinson, who passed away after a valiant battle with Crohn’s Disease.

Open daily from 4pm to 2am to the 19+ crowd, The Longhorn Saloon is proud to present performances by Ettinger & Big 50 and the Chris Buck Band all weekend. For a special treat,fans will be thrilled to welcome 2017 Juno nominated country singing superstar, Aaron Pritchett to Sunday’s lineup. From 9:30pm-­-11:00pm, Aaron will be rocking the stage with such anthems as “Hold My Beer” and hits off his newest album TheScore. Guests of all ages can catch performances on The Lordco Auto Parts Outdoor Entertainment Stage where you can two step the night away to the likes of: The Heels, Whiskey Jane, Rosemary & The Sweet Sound Revival, and more! With a mascot dance party nightly starting at 6pm on this is a must-­-see attraction for the family!

The BC Country Music Association (BCCMA) will be hosting an impressive pavilion that will include a meet-­-and-­-greet with BCCMA artists throughout the May Long Weekend. This Pavilion called Boots and Buckles is open to all ages and is free until 8pm when it will transform into a live music dance hall for 19+ Fair attendees.
