Abby Talks is a FREE, “Ted Talks” style, 8 week program that runs once a week (Wednesdays between 6 and 8 pm).

During this time there will be showcase speakers who will present great, well informed presentations. This program is designed to motivate and challenge students to learn about themselves, resources within their community, educational opportunities and to ultimately help promote healthy decision making for their future and personal success.

There are many definitions of success. During the eight weeks, students will explore topics that will encourage the idea of “What is success to me?”

This program will provide an outlook to students on how to sharpen their leadership, financial guidance, life skills, self-wellness, mental wellness, and encourage confidence. Furthermore, it will offer an introduction to educational/trade options, while having fun along the way.

These talks are not about one big world-changing idea, but instead a very engaging take on interesting topics that will expose students to subjects that they may not otherwise know much about. The goal is to have students leave the program feeling more confident and excited to start making decisions within their personal journey to success.

Please note, upon registration, each participant will be entered in a draw for a chance to WIN 2 movie passes including popcorn and drinks. In addition, PIZZA will be served on these evenings, compliments of Coast Capital.

The Winter program will be held at Clayburn Middle School from January to March with the Spring Program happening at Colleen and Gordie Howe from April to June.

Abby Talks is open to students in the Abbotsford School District, between the ages of 13 and 17 years old. There are 32 spots open each session and pre-registration is required.
