Big Brothers Big Sisters programs are designed to match adults in need of having fun, with a child between the ages of 7 and 14. These children are pre-screened and have committed to spend 3-4 hours a week, with their "Big Brother" for the duration of a year
.Worried that becoming a Big Brother or Sister means you'll have to be on your best behaviour and spend lots of money? Don't be. As a Big Brother or Sister all that's required is your time. And you can fill that time by playing video games, giving each other makeovers, going fishing, eating ice-cream, whatever you want! It's all about having a good time, making a new friend, and making a positive impace on a child's life.
Statistics show the Big Brother Big Sisters program increase children's self-esteem, reduces their chance of using drugs, alcohol or violence, improve their school participation and attendance and helps them to build better relationships with adults and their peers.
