When it first came to town in 2001, Stream was already one of the biggest employers in Chilliwack. Since being acquired by Convergys last year, they’re now part of a $3 billion company that has over 125,000 employees world wide. Site Director Mike Robinson announced Thursday that not only is the singage on the building changed over now, they’re also hiring 150 new employees, and 85 of those are full time positions.
He says they’ve brought a few new clients on board including Flir, which works on thermal imaging, Parrot, which develops drones, and another company that’s developing virtual reality technology. Convergys handles customer care and tech support to its clients.  82% of their employees live in Chilliwack, meaning they spend money here, which is a boon to the local economy.
