abbyPD310This past Sunday, an Abbotsford police officer fired 24 shots to kill a cow that had been running loose on city streets…and that case is now under review.  Cst. Paul Walker says the department is taking a lot of heat on social media for it, and they’re not running away from it…he says they will review every part of what happened and deal with it appropriately.  It all started around 10:15 Sunday morning, when the cow was first reported to be loose in the area of Whatcom and South Parallel.  After several attempts to corral it…it even crossed the freeway at one point….the officer started shooting.  Walker says they aren’t sure yet how many bullets hit the cow, but that 24 shots were fired. He says the police don’t carry tranquilizer guns and conservation officers deal with wild animals, not farm animals.
