As of June 1st, those caught with a phone in their hand while behind the wheel in BC will have to pay a minimum of $543.

A second offence within one year will cost over $800. Emailing or texting while driving will become a “high risk offence,” with two or more tickets in one year meaning up to a 12-month license suspension.

So just in case you needed more reasons to leave the phone alone while driving………
